LESS THEN ONE WEEK LEFT TO ENROLL IN HEALTH INSURANCE
ATLANTA, GA / January 25, 2017– Open Enrollment on Healthcare.gov for the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare will end on Tuesday, January 31st, 2017. The ACA is still law and requirements to have health coverage are still being enforced. Please be sure to enroll or renew health coverage by this date if not sooner. The Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS) has appointments available to assist with enrolling and navigating the website free of charge.
This year the penalty for not having health insurance is 2.5% of yearly household income or $695 per person. Those who may not qualify for tax credits, submitting a Healthcare.gov application will provide an exemption from the tax penalty. If you are currently enrolled in health insurance in the Marketplace, be sure to update information on your account. Not updating your income information may cause you to lose or receive an inaccurate amount of tax credits that individuals may be subjected to pay back when filing their 2017 income taxes.
CPACS staff is available to provide direct assistance and educational workshops to the community on how to use Health Insurance and the Marketplace. In addition, assistances and workshops can be provided in 17 different languages including Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Spanish, Nepali, and Burmese. For more information call (770) 936-0969 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Enrollment assistance, workshops, and presentations can be provided for large groups, such as churches, if requested in advance.
